Terms of Service

Overview

Apixies ("we", "us", "the service") is a developer API suite operated by Bugra Ergin, based in Switzerland. By creating an account or using our APIs, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

These terms are written in plain language. They're meant to be fair and straightforward.

What Apixies provides

Apixies offers a collection of 39+ utility REST APIs for developers — things like SSL inspection, email validation, DNS lookups, IP geolocation, HTML-to-PDF conversion, and more.

The service is currently available as a free development tier. We may introduce paid plans in the future, but existing free-tier functionality will remain accessible. We'll communicate any significant changes in advance.

Your account

You must provide accurate information when registering (name, email).
You are responsible for keeping your password and API keys secure.
Don't share your API keys publicly or embed them in client-side code.
One account per person. Don't create multiple accounts to circumvent limits.
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
You're responsible for all activity under your account.

API keys

API keys authenticate your requests. Here's what you should know:

API keys are tied to your account. Treat them like passwords.
We can revoke keys at any time if we detect misuse or abuse.
Temporary keys and sandbox tokens expire automatically.
If you believe a key has been compromised, delete it immediately from your dashboard and create a new one.

Acceptable use

You may use Apixies for lawful purposes. Specifically, you agree not to:

Use the service for any illegal activity
Attempt to bypass rate limits, quotas, or authentication
Send automated requests designed to overload or disrupt the service
Use our APIs to scrape, harvest, or collect data about other people without their consent
Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the service without our written permission
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our APIs
Resell or redistribute API access without our permission
Submit malicious content (scripts, malware, harmful payloads) through API inputs

Rate limits and quotas

To keep the service reliable for everyone, we enforce rate limits:

Global rate cap — 50 requests per second per IP address
Per-endpoint rate limit — 60 requests per minute
Daily quotas — apply per user or per IP for anonymous usage

These limits may change. If you consistently need higher limits, contact us to discuss options.

Service availability

We do our best to keep Apixies running smoothly, but we make no guarantees of uptime or availability. The service is provided "as is." We may need to take the service offline for maintenance, updates, or unforeseen circumstances.

We won't be liable for any downtime, data loss, or issues caused by service interruptions. Don't build critical systems that depend solely on Apixies without your own fallback plans.

Intellectual property

The Apixies service, including its design, code, documentation, and branding, belongs to us. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of it without permission.

Data you submit through the APIs (e.g., URLs to inspect, text to convert) remains yours. We don't claim ownership of your input data. We process it only to deliver the API response and don't retain it beyond what's needed for logging (as described in our Privacy Policy).

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

Apixies is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free tier, is zero).

Account termination

You can deactivate your account at any time from your Account Settings.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the service, or if we need to for legal or operational reasons. We'll try to give notice when possible, but reserve the right to act immediately in cases of serious abuse.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll make reasonable efforts to notify you (e.g., via email or a notice on the site).

Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms. If you disagree with any changes, stop using the service and deactivate your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Switzerland.
